Chris Rommel can draw caricatures from photographs.  Whether the caricature is needed for a friend's birthday gift, a business card or just something to hang on your wall, Chris can accommodate your needs.  For mail order caricatures from photographs, Chris provides two options of coloring techniques..."Airbrushed" or "Digital".  Airbrushed caricatures are drawn in marker and then colored using an airbrush, just like his live and airbrushed examples on his portfolio page.  Final airbrushed caricatures are sent to you on 12” x 16” sheets, but you can request a different size (fee may apply).  This organic technique is ideal for gifts, since you get an original drawing/painting.  Digital caricatures are drawn with pen & ink, scanned into a computer and then colored digitally using Adobe Photoshop, just like his studio and published caricatures on his portfolio page.  Final digital caricatures are sent to you as JPEG files, 300dpi and at your requested size via e-mail attachment or burned onto a Compact Disc (CD).  Photo-quality prints can be purchased from Chris up to 11" X 17" for $5 each (unlimited amount of prints can be purchased).  This clean technique is ideal for promotional materials, such as business cards and web sites, or as group gifts where several originals would be too expensive.

Drawing from photographs takes a lot longer than drawing from live subjects.  Currently, Chris charges $100 per person for "Airbrushed" caricatures or $200 per person for "Digital" caricatures.  Complex themes and/or backgrounds may be extra.  Here are examples of both techniques next to the photographs used, along with a brief summary....

AIRBRUSHED:  $100 per person.  12" x 16" standard size.  Original drawing/painting.

DIGITAL:  $200 per person.  11" x 17" maximum printable size.  Digital file/print.

What Chris needs from you is good, clear photographs of all people wished to be caricatured (more than one photograph is helpful).  These photographs need to be large and close enough for him to see the details of each feature.  This is necessary to capture a good likeness.  The better the photograph, the better the caricature.  If a large group caricature is requested, at least one photograph of each person is needed in order to combine them together onto one page.  Please include a description of any basic theme (baseball, fishing, gardening, etc.) if desired, otherwise a basic head and shoulders caricature will be drawn.  Please remember that complex themes and/or backgrounds may be extra.  Please also include the eye and hair colors of each person since some photographs can be deceiving.  All photographs can be sent to Chris via e-mail attachments (.jpg) or mailed to his mailing address (please contact him for mailing address).

At least a 50% (half) down payment is required
in advance, but full payment is recommended to speed up the process.  Payments should be made in U.S. Dollars by either cash, check, money order or credit card through PayPal.  Chris will e-mail you a rough sketch to view, discuss any changes and make sure you are satisfied before drawing the final.  Once the final caricature is completed, Chris will e-mail you a low-resolution jpeg attachment of it and will then wait until he receives the remaining payment (if not already paid) before mailing you the final product.  Turn-around time for completion of caricatures is usually within 2 weeks, but may vary during certain times of the year.  Caricatures and prints will be packaged either rolled inside a mailing tube or inside a sturdy, flat envelope.  All mailed photographs will be returned along with the packages or else inside separate envelopes.  Packages will be sent through USPS Priority Mail (2-3 day service within the continental United States), but can also be sent through USPS Express Mail (overnight within the continental United States) if wished.  $15 extra is charged for USPS Express Mail orders.
